Lovers Canoeing is inspired by my friends at Kindling Collective. They use their queer-centered gear library and education center to bring queer folks outside to connect with nature and one another. When Eva and Hal told me they were planning their first-annual fundraiser, I knew I wanted to make a painting to share their story. Lovers Canoeing depicts co-founders Hal (expert canoeist in the stern!) and Eva (chief storyteller up front!) as they paddle through the night sky and into the future with Kindling Collective.

Lovers Canoeing was made into 20” x 16” archival-quality prints in a hand-signed and numbered edition of 50. There are a limited number left, which can be purchased directly from the Kindling Collective website to benefit their ongoing work.
